School's Out
Yesterday was such a good day. There is this man that I work with who is such a sweetheart. A few months ago he was showing me a picture of his daughter that was in his ragged wallet. I told him she was too pretty to be in such a worn wallet and that I would get him one for Christmas. So yesterday I told him I had something for him. He thought it was the papers I had in my hand. I said, no, it's in my room. So he followed me to my room and I gave him the box. When he opened it, his mouth dropped. He was so happy. He said, it's real leather. I said of course. He didn't even notice that it was Perry Ellis, just that it is leather. I was just glad he appreciated it. He said I made his day, but he made mine because he liked it so much.
Then I had a date with this guy. He is ok. We went to a Mexican restaurant after school. We were supposed to go later in the day, but his daughter had a Christmas program, so we had to go earlier. That was sweet of him. I liked that he knows how to prioritize. He is going to pay for my dirty dirty new car to get detailed today. I'm going to keep him around for a while.
I talked to one of my friends last night. We hadn't talked in a while. She is coming to my house later on this evening. She is considering making this particular guy her boyfriend and I am happy for her. When I met him, he seemed so nice. He seemed genuinely nice and that's a rarity. I hope this one works out for her.
I talked to my friend in Iraq. I don't know if I miss him or I am worried about him. He will be home in February. I'm glad about that. He was just talking and talking. I let him use a whole heap of my minutes. It was worth it. I was just glad to hear his voice.
Today, two of my co-workers are grilling steaks. I am not fond of steak because they are usually too tough to eat. I told them when we went on our field trip that I have never had a good one, so mine will be special. I'm excited. I was going to go home as soon as the bell rang, but I will stay, enjoy the steak, get my car detailed, finish cleaning my house, go to the grocery store, and wait on my friend.
In case I am not here for a while, I hope everyone has a good weekend, a merry Christmas, and a happy New Year. Be easy.
